While Lying with Visualizations: Seeing Isn't Believing makes several valuable points about Visual Manipulation, I found some aspects problematic. The author's treatment of Data Visualization seems oversimplified, particularly when compared to Critical Thinking. That said, the sections on Media Literacy are genuinely insightful and make the book worth reading despite its flaws. With some refinement in Critical Thinking, this could be a truly outstanding work.

As a scholar in Data Visualization, I found Lying with Visualizations: Seeing Isn't Believing to be an exceptional contribution to the field. The author's approach to Visual Manipulation is both innovative and rigorous, providing fresh insights that challenge conventional wisdom. Particularly noteworthy is the discussion of Critical Thinking, which offers a compelling framework for understanding Information Design. While some may argue that Media Literacy, the evidence presented is thorough and convincing. This book is essential reading for anyone serious about Data Visualization.

I'll be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect with Lying with Visualizations: Seeing Isn't Believing, but wow! It completely blew me away. The way the author explains Critical Thinking made everything click for me. I've been struggling with Visual Manipulation for years, and this book gave me the tools I needed. My favorite part was when they talked about Data Visualization - it reminded me so much of my own experience with Media Literacy. I've already recommended it to all my friends!
