While Vulkan Compute: High-Performance Compute Programming with Vulkan and Compute Shaders makes several valuable points about programming, I found some aspects problematic. The author's treatment of compute seems oversimplified, particularly when compared to compute. That said, the sections on shader are genuinely insightful and make the book worth reading despite its flaws. With some refinement in compute, this could be a truly outstanding work.

Vulkan Compute: High-Performance Compute Programming with Vulkan and Compute Shaders is a comprehensive exploration of programming that manages to be both accessible to newcomers and valuable to experts. The book is divided into 6 sections, each building thoughtfully on the last. Part 3's discussion of programming is particularly strong, with clear examples and practical applications. The diagrams and illustrations throughout help clarify complex ideas, and the chapter summaries are excellent for review. My only minor critique is that some examples felt dated, but this doesn't detract from the overall quality. This will undoubtedly become a standard reference in the field.

I'll be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect with Vulkan Compute: High-Performance Compute Programming with Vulkan and Compute Shaders, but wow! It completely blew me away. The way the author explains ai made everything click for me. I've been struggling with vulkan for years, and this book gave me the tools I needed. My favorite part was when they talked about simulation - it reminded me so much of my own experience with simulation. I've already recommended it to all my friends!

Has anyone else noticed how Vulkan Compute: High-Performance Compute Programming with Vulkan and Compute Shaders relates to simulation? I was reading about shader and it made me think of chapter 1.
