As a scholar in Game Design, I found Quickstart Guide to Game Design to be an exceptional contribution to the field. The author's approach to Design Principles is both innovative and rigorous, providing fresh insights that challenge conventional wisdom. Particularly noteworthy is the discussion of Educational Games, which offers a compelling framework for understanding Interactive Design. While some may argue that Game Design, the evidence presented is thorough and convincing. This book is essential reading for anyone serious about Game Design.

I'll be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect with Quickstart Guide to Game Design, but wow! It completely blew me away. The way the author explains Educational Games made everything click for me. I've been struggling with Game Development Basics for years, and this book gave me the tools I needed. My favorite part was when they talked about Educational Games - it reminded me so much of my own experience with Interactive Design. I've already recommended it to all my friends!

While Quickstart Guide to Game Design makes several valuable points about Design Principles, I found some aspects problematic. The author's treatment of Coding for Beginners seems oversimplified, particularly when compared to Beginner Coding. That said, the sections on Coding for Beginners are genuinely insightful and make the book worth reading despite its flaws. With some refinement in Creative Programming, this could be a truly outstanding work.

Has anyone else noticed how Quickstart Guide to Game Design relates to Coding for Beginners? I was reading about Creative Programming and it made me think of chapter 5.
