I'll be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect with Player Experience Design in 20 Minutes, but wow! It completely blew me away. The way the author explains Onboarding made everything click for me. I've been struggling with Motivation for years, and this book gave me the tools I needed. My favorite part was when they talked about Game UX - it reminded me so much of my own experience with Onboarding. I've already recommended it to all my friends!

As a scholar in Player Experience, I found Player Experience Design in 20 Minutes to be an exceptional contribution to the field. The author's approach to Game Feel is both innovative and rigorous, providing fresh insights that challenge conventional wisdom. Particularly noteworthy is the discussion of Onboarding, which offers a compelling framework for understanding Motivation. While some may argue that Motivation, the evidence presented is thorough and convincing. This book is essential reading for anyone serious about Player Experience.

Player Experience Design in 20 Minutes is a comprehensive exploration of Player Experience that manages to be both accessible to newcomers and valuable to experts. The book is divided into 7 sections, each building thoughtfully on the last. Part 5's discussion of Game Feel is particularly strong, with clear examples and practical applications. The diagrams and illustrations throughout help clarify complex ideas, and the chapter summaries are excellent for review. My only minor critique is that some examples felt dated, but this doesn't detract from the overall quality. This will undoubtedly become a standard reference in the field.
