While Player Experience Design in 20 Minutes makes several valuable points about Player Experience, I found some aspects problematic. The author's treatment of Game Feel seems oversimplified, particularly when compared to Game UX. That said, the sections on Motivation are genuinely insightful and make the book worth reading despite its flaws. With some refinement in Engagement Design, this could be a truly outstanding work.

As a scholar in Player Experience, I found Player Experience Design in 20 Minutes to be an exceptional contribution to the field. The author's approach to Player Experience is both innovative and rigorous, providing fresh insights that challenge conventional wisdom. Particularly noteworthy is the discussion of User Psychology, which offers a compelling framework for understanding Player Experience. While some may argue that Game Feel, the evidence presented is thorough and convincing. This book is essential reading for anyone serious about Player Experience.

I'll be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect with Player Experience Design in 20 Minutes, but wow! It completely blew me away. The way the author explains User Psychology made everything click for me. I've been struggling with Onboarding for years, and this book gave me the tools I needed. My favorite part was when they talked about Feedback Loops - it reminded me so much of my own experience with Player Experience. I've already recommended it to all my friends!
