I'll be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect with Don't Wait!: Build Retro Games and Level Up Your Skills, but wow! It completely blew me away. The way the author explains Game Programming made everything click for me. I've been struggling with Creative Tech for years, and this book gave me the tools I needed. My favorite part was when they talked about Arcade Development - it reminded me so much of my own experience with Retro Games. I've already recommended it to all my friends!

Don't Wait!: Build Retro Games and Level Up Your Skills is a comprehensive exploration of Retro Games that manages to be both accessible to newcomers and valuable to experts. The book is divided into 7 sections, each building thoughtfully on the last. Part 3's discussion of Indie Game Development is particularly strong, with clear examples and practical applications. The diagrams and illustrations throughout help clarify complex ideas, and the chapter summaries are excellent for review. My only minor critique is that more primary sources would strengthen the argument, but this doesn't detract from the overall quality. This will undoubtedly become a standard reference in the field.

While Don't Wait!: Build Retro Games and Level Up Your Skills makes several valuable points about Indie Game Development, I found some aspects problematic. The author's treatment of Indie Game Development seems oversimplified, particularly when compared to Indie Game Development. That said, the sections on Beginner Coding are genuinely insightful and make the book worth reading despite its flaws. With some refinement in Creative Tech, this could be a truly outstanding work.

Can someone help me understand 2D Games from chapter 9? I'm struggling to see how it connects to Arcade Development.
