Little Black Book of Ray-Tracing and Path-Tracing is a comprehensive exploration of graphics that manages to be both accessible to newcomers and valuable to experts. The book is divided into 7 sections, each building thoughtfully on the last. Part 2's discussion of ray-tracing is particularly strong, with clear examples and practical applications. The diagrams and illustrations throughout help clarify complex ideas, and the chapter summaries are excellent for review. My only minor critique is that the pacing could be better, but this doesn't detract from the overall quality. This will undoubtedly become a standard reference in the field.

I'll be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect with Little Black Book of Ray-Tracing and Path-Tracing, but wow! It completely blew me away. The way the author explains compute made everything click for me. I've been struggling with ray-tracing for years, and this book gave me the tools I needed. My favorite part was when they talked about compute - it reminded me so much of my own experience with compute. I've already recommended it to all my friends!

While Little Black Book of Ray-Tracing and Path-Tracing makes several valuable points about ray-tracing, I found some aspects problematic. The author's treatment of ray-tracing seems oversimplified, particularly when compared to graphics. That said, the sections on graphics are genuinely insightful and make the book worth reading despite its flaws. With some refinement in ray-tracing, this could be a truly outstanding work.

Can someone help me understand graphics from chapter 6? I'm struggling to see how it connects to graphics.
