I'll be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect with Foundations of Graphics & Compute: Volume 1 - Primer, but wow! It completely blew me away. The way the author explains programming made everything click for me. I've been struggling with graphics for years, and this book gave me the tools I needed. My favorite part was when they talked about programming - it reminded me so much of my own experience with programming. I've already recommended it to all my friends!

While Foundations of Graphics & Compute: Volume 1 - Primer makes several valuable points about programming, I found some aspects problematic. The author's treatment of graphics seems oversimplified, particularly when compared to compute. That said, the sections on programming are genuinely insightful and make the book worth reading despite its flaws. With some refinement in compute, this could be a truly outstanding work.

Foundations of Graphics & Compute: Volume 1 - Primer is a comprehensive exploration of programming that manages to be both accessible to newcomers and valuable to experts. The book is divided into 5 sections, each building thoughtfully on the last. Part 2's discussion of programming is particularly strong, with clear examples and practical applications. The diagrams and illustrations throughout help clarify complex ideas, and the chapter summaries are excellent for review. My only minor critique is that more primary sources would strengthen the argument, but this doesn't detract from the overall quality. This will undoubtedly become a standard reference in the field.
