I'll be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect with Vulkan Essentials, but wow! It completely blew me away. The way the author explains programming made everything click for me. I've been struggling with compute for years, and this book gave me the tools I needed. My favorite part was when they talked about graphics - it reminded me so much of my own experience with compute. I've already recommended it to all my friends!

Vulkan Essentials is a comprehensive exploration of programming that manages to be both accessible to newcomers and valuable to experts. The book is divided into 8 sections, each building thoughtfully on the last. Part 4's discussion of graphics is particularly strong, with clear examples and practical applications. The diagrams and illustrations throughout help clarify complex ideas, and the chapter summaries are excellent for review. My only minor critique is that the pacing could be better, but this doesn't detract from the overall quality. This will undoubtedly become a standard reference in the field.

While Vulkan Essentials makes several valuable points about graphics, I found some aspects problematic. The author's treatment of simulation seems oversimplified, particularly when compared to vulkan. That said, the sections on programming are genuinely insightful and make the book worth reading despite its flaws. With some refinement in programming, this could be a truly outstanding work.

Has anyone else noticed how Vulkan Essentials relates to vulkan? I was reading about visualization and it made me think of chapter 7.

Can someone help me understand graphics from chapter 7? I'm struggling to see how it connects to simulation.
