While WebGPU and WGSL by Example: Fractals, Image Effects, Ray-Tracing, Procedural Geometry, 2D/3D, Particles, Simulations makes several valuable points about webgpu, I found some aspects problematic. The author's treatment of webgpu seems oversimplified, particularly when compared to wgsl. That said, the sections on simulation are genuinely insightful and make the book worth reading despite its flaws. With some refinement in programming, this could be a truly outstanding work.

I'll be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect with WebGPU and WGSL by Example: Fractals, Image Effects, Ray-Tracing, Procedural Geometry, 2D/3D, Particles, Simulations, but wow! It completely blew me away. The way the author explains wgsl made everything click for me. I've been struggling with visualization for years, and this book gave me the tools I needed. My favorite part was when they talked about webgpu - it reminded me so much of my own experience with visualization. I've already recommended it to all my friends!

I've been applying the principles from WebGPU and WGSL by Example: Fractals, Image Effects, Ray-Tracing, Procedural Geometry, 2D/3D, Particles, Simulations to my work in webgpu and seeing amazing results! Specifically, the part about programming has been transformative.

Discussion: What did everyone think of the author's treatment of simulation? I found it more technical compared to other works in the field.

Can someone help me understand ray-tracing from chapter 9? I'm struggling to see how it connects to simulation.
