As a scholar in Uncanny Valley, I found Debugging The Uncanny Valley to be an exceptional contribution to the field. The author's approach to Digital Humans is both innovative and rigorous, providing fresh insights that challenge conventional wisdom. Particularly noteworthy is the discussion of Human-Computer Interaction, which offers a compelling framework for understanding Robotics Psychology. While some may argue that Synthetic Faces, the evidence presented is thorough and convincing. This book is essential reading for anyone serious about Uncanny Valley.

While Debugging The Uncanny Valley makes several valuable points about Digital Humans, I found some aspects problematic. The author's treatment of Digital Humans seems oversimplified, particularly when compared to Human-Computer Interaction. That said, the sections on Synthetic Faces are genuinely insightful and make the book worth reading despite its flaws. With some refinement in Synthetic Faces, this could be a truly outstanding work.

Debugging The Uncanny Valley is a comprehensive exploration of Uncanny Valley that manages to be both accessible to newcomers and valuable to experts. The book is divided into 3 sections, each building thoughtfully on the last. Part 5's discussion of Digital Humans is particularly strong, with clear examples and practical applications. The diagrams and illustrations throughout help clarify complex ideas, and the chapter summaries are excellent for review. My only minor critique is that some examples felt dated, but this doesn't detract from the overall quality. This will undoubtedly become a standard reference in the field.

I'll be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect with Debugging The Uncanny Valley, but wow! It completely blew me away. The way the author explains Human-Computer Interaction made everything click for me. I've been struggling with Uncanny Valley for years, and this book gave me the tools I needed. My favorite part was when they talked about Robotics Psychology - it reminded me so much of my own experience with Human Perception. I've already recommended it to all my friends!
