As a scholar in Game Design, I found 7-7-7 Rule for Game Design to be an exceptional contribution to the field. The author's approach to Mechanics and Systems is both innovative and rigorous, providing fresh insights that challenge conventional wisdom. Particularly noteworthy is the discussion of Gameplay Loops, which offers a compelling framework for understanding Game Design. While some may argue that Design Frameworks, the evidence presented is thorough and convincing. This book is essential reading for anyone serious about Game Design.

I'll be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect with 7-7-7 Rule for Game Design, but wow! It completely blew me away. The way the author explains Gameplay Loops made everything click for me. I've been struggling with Design Frameworks for years, and this book gave me the tools I needed. My favorite part was when they talked about Indie Game Design - it reminded me so much of my own experience with Creative Constraints. I've already recommended it to all my friends!

7-7-7 Rule for Game Design is a comprehensive exploration of Game Design that manages to be both accessible to newcomers and valuable to experts. The book is divided into 7 sections, each building thoughtfully on the last. Part 4's discussion of Mechanics and Systems is particularly strong, with clear examples and practical applications. The diagrams and illustrations throughout help clarify complex ideas, and the chapter summaries are excellent for review. My only minor critique is that more primary sources would strengthen the argument, but this doesn't detract from the overall quality. This will undoubtedly become a standard reference in the field.
