The author's approach to Media Literacy is both innovative and rigorous, providing fresh insights that challenge conventional wisdom. Particularly noteworthy is the discussion of Data Visualization, which offers a compelling framework for understanding Media Literacy. While Lying with Visualizations: Seeing Isn't Believing makes several valuable points about Media Literacy, I found some aspects problematic. The author's treatment of Visual Manipulation seems oversimplified, particularly when compared to Data Visualization. That said, the sections on Information Design are genuinely insightful and make the book worth reading despite its flaws. With some refinement in Data Visualization, this could be a truly outstanding work.

I'll be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect with Lying with Visualizations: Seeing Isn't Believing, but wow! It completely blew me away. The way the author explains Data Visualization made everything click for me. I've been struggling with Data Visualization for years, and this book gave me the tools I needed. My favorite part was when they talked about Media Literacy - it reminded me so much of my own experience with Information Design. I've already recommended it to all my friends!
