While Game Animation Programming makes several valuable points about Skinned Rigs, I found some aspects problematic. The author's treatment of Procedural Animation seems oversimplified, particularly when compared to Game Animation. That said, the sections on Inverse Kinematics are genuinely insightful and make the book worth reading despite its flaws. With some refinement in Computer Graphics, this could be a truly outstanding work.

Game Animation Programming is a comprehensive exploration of Game Animation that manages to be both accessible to newcomers and valuable to experts. The book is divided into 5 sections, each building thoughtfully on the last. Part 4's discussion of Skinned Rigs is particularly strong, with clear examples and practical applications. The diagrams and illustrations throughout help clarify complex ideas, and the chapter summaries are excellent for review. My only minor critique is that some examples felt dated, but this doesn't detract from the overall quality. This will undoubtedly become a standard reference in the field.

I'll be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect with Game Animation Programming, but wow! It completely blew me away. The way the author explains Computer Graphics made everything click for me. I've been struggling with Ragdoll Physics for years, and this book gave me the tools I needed. My favorite part was when they talked about Physics Simulation - it reminded me so much of my own experience with Game Animation. I've already recommended it to all my friends!

Has anyone else noticed how Game Animation Programming relates to Ragdoll Physics? I was reading about Advanced Game Development and it made me think of chapter 8.
