While Game Design and Development: Code, Psychology and Analytics (Paperback) makes several valuable points about psychology, I found some aspects problematic. The author's treatment of game analytics seems oversimplified, particularly when compared to psychology. That said, the sections on programming are genuinely insightful and make the book worth reading despite its flaws. With some refinement in psychology, this could be a truly outstanding work.

I'll be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect with Game Design and Development: Code, Psychology and Analytics (Paperback), but wow! It completely blew me away. The way the author explains games made everything click for me. I've been struggling with psychology for years, and this book gave me the tools I needed. My favorite part was when they talked about game analytics - it reminded me so much of my own experience with programming. I've already recommended it to all my friends!
